Delete your account

You can delete your Mniam account and its associated data at any time, free of charge. There are two ways to do it.

Option 1 — Delete from within the app

• Open the Mniam app and sign in to your account.
• Go to your Profile.
• Tap Delete account.
• Confirm when prompted.

Your account is deleted immediately. You do not need to contact us.

If you only want to remove some of your data and keep the account, see Delete your data instead.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you have uninstalled the app or can no longer sign in, email us at kontakt@mniamapp.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will verify your request and action it without undue delay.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently erase your account and your private data — including your email address, profile information, private Recipes, Collections, Favourites, and uploaded photos — and remove the login credentials associated with your account.

Recipes you previously chose to share publicly are anonymised (dissociated from your account and attributed to a generic “Deleted user”) rather than removed, so they may remain visible in the app without identifying you.

What may be retained

Certain records may be retained where required by law — for example, billing and tax records for up to 7 years, and log data in anonymised or aggregated form. If you have ever held a subscription, the record of what happened to it — purchases, renewals, cancellations and expiries — is kept for up to one year after deletion, detached from your account, so that a billing question or payment dispute raised afterwards can still be answered.
