Delete your data
This page is about removing some of your data while keeping your account. If you want to close the account entirely, see Delete your account instead.
Option 1 — Delete it yourself in the app
Most data is yours to remove directly, at any time and without asking us:
- A Recipe, with its photo — open it, then use the delete action.
- A Collection — deleting it does not delete the Recipes inside it.
- A Favourite — tap the heart again.
- Your profile picture — Profile, then Remove.
- Your username and profile description — Profile, then edit. These are replaced rather than deleted, since an account needs a username.
A Recipe you had shared publicly stops being visible to others as soon as you delete it or make it private again.
Option 2 — Ask us
For anything you cannot reach yourself, email kontakt@mniamapp.com from the address associated with your account and tell us what you would like removed. This is the right of erasure under Article 17 GDPR; we respond within one month, as set out in our Privacy Policy. There is no charge, and asking does not close your account.
What we may keep
Some records survive a deletion request where the law requires it — billing and tax records for up to 7 years, and log data in anonymised or aggregated form. If you have ever held a subscription, the record of what happened to it — purchases, renewals, cancellations and expiries — is kept for up to one year, so that a billing question or a payment dispute can still be answered. We will tell you if something you asked us to remove falls into one of these categories, and why.
